A thank-you video for a teacher or coach works best when it puts them into a scene that fits who they are: the coach lifting a trophy with the team, the music teacher on a big concert stage, or the whole class walking out of a famous movie finale with the teacher in front. With vswp you pick a video from Trends or upload your own, add one photo per person, and AI swaps them in while the moves, camera, lighting and sound stay as in the original. Each video takes a few minutes, so the hard part is collecting photos and agreement, not the editing.
Why make a thank-you video?
Teachers and coaches get a lot of mugs, flowers and cards at the end of the year. A short video made only for them is something they can keep and show at home, and it says "we noticed what you did" in a way that makes the whole class laugh first. It also works when you can't all meet: a team that already scattered for the summer can still be in one clip with one photo each.
Ideas for a teacher or coach
| Idea | Who is in it | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| The coach lifting a trophy with the team | The coach and up to 5 players | The end of a season |
| The teacher as the hero of a famous classroom or speech scene | The teacher | Teachers' Day, the last lesson |
| The music or dance teacher on a big stage | The teacher | A school concert |
| The class walking out together with the teacher in front | The teacher and a few students | Graduation, the end of the year |
| The teacher in a dance trend the class loves | The teacher | A light, funny thank-you |
Teachers' Day falls on different dates around the world. World Teachers' Day is October 5, and many countries have their own day; the end of the school year or the season also works.
A few things make these land better:
- Match the person. A strict math teacher as a calm movie hero is funny and kind. A coach who never smiles celebrating wildly is a gift for the team.
- Keep it respectful. Students, parents and colleagues may see it. Skip anything that would make them look silly in front of the people they teach.
- Make it about them, not the trend. The point is "thank you", so pick a scene with a clear win or a warm ending.
How do you get the teacher's photo and their OK?
Ask. A teacher or coach is an adult with a public role at school, and the video uses their face, so they should agree before you make it. You can still keep the scene a surprise: say the class is making a thank-you video and ask for one photo, without saying what happens in it. If they say no, a regular card with a video of students saying thanks is just as good.
A good photo is sharp, evenly lit, with only that person in it and the whole face visible, without sunglasses or a cap. A recent selfie beats a crop from a blurry team photo. If some students in the video are under age, ask their parents too. Our guide on face swap consent and safety covers the basics.
Then decide on Keep the original look:
- On: the clothes from the scene stay, and only faces and hair change. A clear portrait is enough. This suits team kits, suits and stage costumes already in the clip.
- Off: clothes, hair and silhouette come from the photos. Use a full-body photo of one person; a portrait cannot show clothing it doesn't contain.
The full checklist is in which photos work best for an AI video swap.
How many students fit in one video?
One video can use up to 6 different photos, one per person. Everyone without a photo stays as in the original, so in a team or crowd scene only the people you choose change. For a whole class, make a short clip with the teacher and a few students, or several clips with different groups, and play them in a row.
How to make the video, step by step
- Pick one organizer, often a class rep or a parent, and start a week before the event.
- Sign in at vswp.app with Telegram. There's no password, and only the organizer needs an account.
- Pick the scene from Trends or upload your own clip: 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format. Use only videos you have the right to use. For an upload, the person search runs on the first 30 seconds, usually in a couple of minutes, and it's free. In a longer video you can choose another part of up to 30 seconds.
- Add the photos to the cards of the people they should replace. Main people come first; people seen briefly or far away are grouped as the background.
- Set the look with "Keep the original look".
- Check the free preview. If you haven't used yours, "Make the free preview" shows about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark.
- Make the full video: choose 480p or 720p, check the estimated time and the price, and press "Create the full video". Paid videos have no mark.
- Watch it before the event. If a face looks off, pressing "Create video" again makes a new take, which is a new render.
How do you give it to them?
You get an MP4 of the processed part, up to 30 seconds, with the original sound. vswp doesn't add text, so put "Thank you, Ms. Rivera!" or the team name in your phone's video editor if you want it on screen. You can also follow it with short clips of students saying thanks in their own words.
- At the last lesson or the team party, test the screen and the sound first, and keep the file on your phone as a backup.
- Privately, send it as a file so it keeps full quality, and let the teacher decide whether it goes any further. Post it publicly only with their OK.
For more ways to hand a video over, see an AI video as a gift. If the teacher is leaving the school, a farewell video for a coworker has ideas that fit, and for the class itself there are graduation video ideas.
What about rules and labels?
Schools and clubs often have rules about photos of students, so if you plan to show the video at an official event, ask the organizers first. Pressing "Create video" confirms you have the right to use the video and the photos. Rules differ by country, and this is not legal advice; in the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026, so label the video as AI-made if you publish it.
How much does it cost?
The free preview costs nothing; the number of free previews per day is limited, and the app says when the next one frees up. The full video is paid in Telegram Stars (⭐). The price depends on the length, the quality and the number of people you replace, and the exact price is shown before you start. Stars are taken when a render starts and returned automatically if it fails or is canceled.
FAQ
Can I make a thank-you video without the teacher knowing?
You can keep the scene a surprise, but ask before you use their photo. It's their face, and the video may be seen by students and parents.
Can the whole team be in the coach's video?
Up to 6 people per video, one photo each, so the coach and five players. Everyone else in the scene stays as in the original; for a bigger team, make several short clips.
Do the students need to sign up?
No. Only the organizer signs in with Telegram. The others just send a photo and agree to be in it.
Can I make it on my phone?
Yes. vswp works in the browser on phones and computers, and on a phone you can share the finished MP4 straight to Telegram, stories and other apps.
