An AI video makes a good gift when it puts the person into a scene they love: their favorite film moment, a music video, a dance trend or an inside joke, with the moves, camera, lighting and sound kept from the original. In vswp you pick a video from Trends or upload your own, add a photo of each person to swap in, and the video is usually ready in minutes. What makes it a gift is the choice of scene and the way you hand it over.

Why give a video instead of a thing?

A personal video costs little time, arrives instantly, and works for people who already have everything. It also travels well: you can send it to a friend in another country at midnight, play it at a party, or keep it as part of a bigger present. The best ones are short, funny or touching, and clearly made for one person.

Anniversary The two of you in "your" film or song Both of you

For birthdays and anniversaries there are full walk-throughs: a birthday video with your friend's face and an anniversary surprise video.

How do you choose the right scene?

Start with the person, not the effect. Ask yourself what they quote, hum or keep sending you. Then check that the clip will work:

  • One clear moment. vswp processes one part of up to 30 seconds, so pick the part with the punchline, the chorus or the big entrance.
  • A visible hero. Faces that are large, lit and turned to the camera come out best. Faces hidden by hands, props or fast camera motion may need another take.
  • The right number of people. One video can use up to 6 different photos. Everyone without a photo stays as in the original, so a crowd scene can keep the crowd.

Trends is the quickest start: popular videos where the people are already found. For a music video, our guide on putting yourself in a music video has more tips. Use only clips you have the right to use.

Which photos do you need?

One sharp photo per person, of that person alone, in good light, with the whole face visible and no sunglasses. Then choose "Keep the original look":

  • On: the clothes from the video stay, and only faces and hair change. Good for costumes, suits, wedding dresses and period scenes. A clear portrait is enough.
  • Off: clothes, hair and silhouette come from the photo. Use a full-body photo, since a portrait cannot show clothing it doesn't contain.

For a group gift, collect the photos ahead of time. Our guide to swapping a whole group of friends into one video covers how to assign them, and which photos work best has the full checklist.

How to make the gift, step by step

  1. Start a few days early, so there is time for another take.
  2. Sign in at vswp.app with Telegram. There's no password, and the person you're making it for doesn't need an account.
  3. Pick the video from Trends, or upload your own: 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format. The person search runs on the first 30 seconds automatically, usually in a couple of minutes, and it's free. In a longer clip you can choose another part of up to 30 seconds.
  4. Add the photos to the cards of the people they should replace. Main people come first; people seen briefly or far away are grouped as the background.
  5. Set the look with "Keep the original look".
  6. Check with the free preview. If you haven't used it yet, "Make the free preview" shows about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark.
  7. Make the full video for the gift itself: choose 480p or 720p, check the estimated time and the price, and press "Create the full video". Paid videos have no mark.
  8. Watch it before giving it. If a face looks off, pressing "Create video" again makes a new take, which is a new render.

How do you give a video as a present?

You get an MP4 of the processed part, up to 30 seconds, with the original sound. vswp doesn't add text, so the message goes around it:

  • Right on time. Send it in Telegram or another messenger at midnight or in the morning, with a few words of your own.
  • On a big screen. Play it at the party, the dinner or the office goodbye, so everyone sees the reaction.
  • With a card. Add a line in your phone's video editor, or write it in a card and play the video after.
  • Alongside a real gift. A video of your friend scoring the winning goal goes well with match tickets.

Show it to the person privately first, and post it publicly only if they are happy with that.

What about consent?

Ask before you use someone's photo. For a surprise, check with a partner or close friend whether the person would enjoy it, and keep the video private until they say yes. Pressing "Create video" confirms you have the right to use the video and the photos. Rules differ by country, and this is not legal advice; in the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026, so label the video as AI-made if you publish it. More in face swap consent and safety.

How much does it cost?

Prices are in Telegram Stars (⭐). The price depends on the length, the quality and the number of people you replace, and the exact price is shown before you start. Stars are taken when a render starts and returned automatically if it fails or is canceled.

FAQ

Can I make an AI video gift on my phone?

Yes. vswp works in the browser on phones and computers, and on a phone you can share the finished MP4 straight to Telegram, stories and other apps.

Does the person receiving the gift need an account?

No. Only you sign in with Telegram. They just receive the MP4.

Can several friends be in the same gift video?

Yes. One video can use up to 6 different photos, one per person, and everyone without a photo stays as in the original.

Is the free preview enough as a gift?

It is a short check of about 5 seconds at 480p with a "vswp.app" mark. For the gift itself, make the full video, which has no mark and can be 720p.

What if the result doesn't look like them?

Make another take, try a sharper photo with the face larger, or pick a part of the clip where the person is closer to the camera.
