To put yourself in a music video, you need the clip and a clear photo of yourself. In vswp, you pick a music video scene from Trends or upload a clip you have the right to use, add your photo to the singer or dancer you want to replace, and AI generates a new video with you in their place. The song, the moves, the camera and the lighting stay as in the original, so you appear to perform the same part.

How does putting yourself in a music video work?

The AI doesn't cut out your face and paste it onto frames. It generates a new version of the clip in which you make the same moves, sing along at the same moments and stand in the same light. The original audio stays, so the song plays exactly as before. Everyone without a photo, such as the band, the dancers or the crowd, stays as in the original.

If you are new to this, start with the basics in how to put yourself into any video.

Which music videos can you use?

Use only clips you have the right to use. Pressing "Create video" confirms that you do, for both the video and the photos. Good sources:

  • The Trends library. Popular videos, including music video scenes, with the people already found, so you only add photos.
  • Your own performance. A clip of you or your band playing, a karaoke night, a dance you filmed to a song.
  • A friend's or a local artist's video, with their permission.

Official music videos belong to artists and labels. Rules differ by country and by platform, and this is not legal advice; when in doubt, keep the result private or ask the rights holder.

Which part of the clip should you pick?

vswp processes one part of up to 30 seconds per video, so choose the moment that matters most, usually the chorus, the hook or the best dance move. For a clip you upload (1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format), the person search runs automatically on the first 30 seconds, usually in a couple of minutes, and it's free. In a longer clip, you can choose another part of up to 30 seconds.

A part tends to work better when:

  1. The singer or dancer you replace is large in the frame and well lit.
  2. Their face isn't hidden for long behind a microphone, hands, hair or smoke.
  3. The camera isn't whipping around, and the stage isn't packed with people.

Music videos often have fast camera motion, crowds and things in front of faces, and those can need another take. Our guide on how to choose a video that works for an AI person swap goes deeper.

Should you keep the stage outfit?

That's the "Keep the original look" switch:

On Off
What changes Your face and hair Your face, hair and clothes
Clothes come from The music video Your photo
Good for Iconic costumes and stage looks Appearing as yourself
Best photo A sharp portrait A full-body photo of just you

Many music videos are remembered for their outfits, so keeping them often makes the scene instantly recognizable. A portrait can't show clothing it doesn't contain, so for your own outfit use a full-body photo. See swap only the face or the whole person for more.

How to put yourself in a music video, step by step

  1. Open vswp.app and sign in with Telegram. There's no password, and it works in the browser on a phone or a computer.
  2. Pick a music video scene from Trends, or upload your own clip.
  3. Look through the people cards. The main people come first; those seen briefly or far away are grouped as the background.
  4. Add your photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP) to the person you want to become. To put your whole band in, add up to 6 different photos, one per person.
  5. Set "Keep the original look", choose 480p or 720p, and check the estimated time and the price.
  6. Press "Make the free preview" if it's your first time, or "Create the full video".
  7. Download the MP4, or share it from your phone to Telegram, stories and other apps.

What does it cost?

Prices are in Telegram Stars (⭐), paid through the bot @vswpapp_bot. The price depends on the length, the quality and the number of people you replace, and the exact price is shown before you start. Stars are taken when a render starts and returned automatically if it fails or is canceled.

Every new user gets one free preview: about 8 seconds of the clip where the people with photos are on screen, at 480p, with a small "vswp.app" mark. The full video is paid and has no mark.

What do you get?

An MP4 of the processed part, up to 30 seconds, at 480p or 720p, with the original song. The frame rate follows the source, up to about 30 fps. Videos are typically ready in minutes. Pressing "Create video" again makes a new take, which is a new render, and each take comes out a little different.

Can you post it?

You can share it with friends, but posting publicly needs more care. Platforms may mute or block songs you don't have the rights to, and many ask you to label AI-made content. In the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026. Read how to post an AI video on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and always ask friends before using their photos.

FAQ

Will I look like I'm singing the song?

You take over the original performer's moves, including their mouth movements, and the original audio stays. So you appear to sing the same part they sang, at the same moments.

Can I put my whole band in a music video?

Yes. Add a photo to each person's card, up to 6 different photos per video. Anyone without a photo stays as in the original.

How long can my music video be?

You can upload a clip of 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB. Each new video covers one part of up to 30 seconds, so pick the chorus or your favorite moment.

Why doesn't my face look right in some shots?

Microphones near the mouth, hands, very fast camera motion and crowded stages are hard for generative AI. Try a part where you're larger and less covered, a sharper photo, or another take.
