An office holiday party video made with AI puts your colleagues into a scene everyone recognizes: a festive movie moment, a dance trend, a big entrance or a meme the team chat keeps quoting. You pick the video, add one photo per colleague, and AI swaps them in while the moves, camera, lighting and sound stay as in the original. In vswp each video is usually ready in minutes, so one person can prepare a short program for the party without anyone having to film or rehearse.
Why make a video for the office party?
Most teams don't want to perform on stage, and many have colleagues in other cities who can't come. A short video solves both: nobody films anything, everyone who agrees can be in it with one photo, and the whole room watches it together. It also gives the evening a clear moment, like the opening, the toast or the last song, without a long speech.
Office party video ideas
| Idea | Who is in it | When to play it |
|---|---|---|
| The team in a holiday movie scene | 2 to 6 colleagues | Opening of the party |
| The department dance | One small group per clip | Before the dancing starts |
| The big entrance | The people being thanked this year | During the toasts or awards |
| The team chat meme | Whoever started the joke | Any time, as a break |
| A greeting from remote colleagues | People who couldn't come | On the screen or the video call |
A few notes on each:
- The holiday movie scene. A well-known festive moment, with the team taking the main roles. With "Keep the original look" on, everyone wears the costumes from the scene.
- The department dance. Pick a dance from Trends, where the people are already found, and give each dancer a colleague's photo. Make one clip per department and play them in a row.
- The big entrance. A slow-motion walk or a hero arrival for the people the team wants to thank: a project that shipped, a new team member, someone who held things together.
- The team chat meme. If one reaction GIF or meme has become the team's running joke, put the person who started it inside it. Everyone in the room will get it.
- Remote colleagues. Those who can't travel send a photo, and appear in a scene of their own that you play on the night.

How do you keep it right for work?
A party video is seen by the whole team and often by managers, so keep it kind and opt-in:
- Ask everyone first. Use a photo only from a colleague who agreed to be in the video. Don't take photos from social media or the staff directory.
- Make it easy to say no. Ask in a private message rather than in front of the group, and leave people out without asking why.
- Laugh with people, not at them. Choose scenes where colleagues look good or share a joke they enjoy. Avoid anything about looks, age, salaries, conflicts or who is leaving.
- Check your company's rules. Some companies limit how staff photos are used or shared. If in doubt, ask HR or whoever organizes the party.
- Treat managers like everyone else. Put a manager in a scene only if they agreed and are fine with the joke.
How many colleagues fit in one video?
One video can use up to 6 different photos, one per person. Everyone without a photo stays as in the original, so in a crowd scene only the people you choose change. For a bigger team, make several short videos, each with its own small group. Our guide to swapping a whole group of friends into one video shows how to match photos to people.
Which photos should you collect?
Ask each colleague for one sharp photo of themselves alone, in good light, with the whole face visible and no sunglasses. A shared folder or a private chat with the organizer works well. Then choose "Keep the original look":
- On: the clothes from the video stay and only faces and hair change. A clear portrait is enough. This is the easy choice for Santa suits, costumes and movie scenes.
- Off: clothes, hair and silhouette come from the photo. Use a full-body photo of one person; a portrait cannot show clothing it doesn't contain.

How do you make it, step by step?
- Start a week or two before the party. Each video takes minutes, but collecting photos and answers from a busy team takes longer.
- Sign in at vswp.app with Telegram. There's no password, and only the person making the videos needs an account.
- Pick the scene from Trends, or upload your own video: 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format, and only one you have the right to use. The person search runs on the first 30 seconds automatically, usually in a couple of minutes, and it's free. In a longer video you can choose another part of up to 30 seconds.
- Add the photos to the cards of the people they should replace. Main people come first; people seen briefly or far away are grouped as the background.
- Set the look with "Keep the original look".
- Check the free preview. If you haven't used yours, "Make the free preview" shows about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark.
- Make the full video: choose 480p or 720p, check the estimated time and the price, and press "Create the full video". Paid videos have no mark.
- Watch every clip before the party. If a face looks off, pressing "Create video" again makes a new take, which is a new render.
How do you show it at the party?
You get an MP4 of the processed part, up to 30 seconds, with the original sound. vswp doesn't add text, so put names or a title like "Our year" in your phone's video editor if you want them.
- In the venue, test the screen, the cable and the sound before guests arrive, and keep a copy of every file on your phone.
- On a video call, share your screen with the computer's sound on, and try it once with a colleague first.
- After the party, send the clips to the people who are in them. Post them on public accounts only if everyone in the video is happy with that.
Consent and the rules
Pressing "Create video" confirms you have the right to use the video and the photos. Rules differ by country, and this is not legal advice; in the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026, so label a video as AI-made if you publish it. More in face swap consent and safety.
How much does it cost?
The free preview costs nothing; the number of free previews per day is limited, and the app says when the next one frees up. Full videos are paid in Telegram Stars (⭐). The price depends on the length, the quality and the number of people you replace, and the exact price is shown before you start, which makes it easy to plan within a party budget. Stars are taken when a render starts and returned automatically if it fails or is canceled.
FAQ
Can the whole department be in one office party video?
Up to 6 people per video, one photo each; everyone else in the scene stays as in the original. For a bigger department, make several short clips and play them in a row.
Do my colleagues need to sign up?
No. Only the person who makes the videos signs in with Telegram. Colleagues just send a photo and agree to be in the video.
Can colleagues who work remotely take part?
Yes. They only need to send a photo. You can also play the finished clips on a video call by sharing your screen with sound.
Can I make the videos on my phone?
Yes. vswp works in the browser on phones and computers, and on a phone you can share the finished MP4 straight to Telegram and other apps.
