What is the Twirlanta End of Watch trend?
It is a character edit, the kind of short fan cut that takes a few seconds of a film and sets them to a hard-hitting track. Here the footage is a close, almost fish-eye view inside a police locker room: rows of dark metal lockers with stickers on them, one officer with a shaved head and a white T-shirt filling the foreground, and his partner leaning into the frame from behind with a grin. The edit adds a contrasty, slightly glowing grade, and the beat of “Twirlanta” drives the cuts.
Because the scene is only two faces up close, it works as a duo: you and your best friend, your partner at work, or your gym buddy as the two cops who look straight into the lens.
Where does the original video come from?
The footage is from End of Watch (2012), written and directed by David Ayer. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Officer Brian Taylor and Michael Peña plays his partner Mike Zavala, two patrol officers in South Central Los Angeles. The film is told in a found-footage style: Taylor films his own shifts, so much of it is shot on handheld cameras and cameras inside the patrol car. The locker-room moment comes from that home-video side of the film, where Taylor shows off his cameras to the lens.
The song is “Twirlanta” by 22Gz, a drill rapper from Brooklyn. The edit itself is fan-made, and we could not confirm who cut it first or where it first went viral, so this page links no source. vswp keeps the edit's sound as it is.
People search for it as the “End of Watch edit”, “Twirlanta edit”, “Jake Gyllenhaal End of Watch edit” or simply “22Gz Twirlanta”.
Who and what is in it?
Two people are already found, each with a card:
- The officer in the white T-shirt. Brian Taylor, played by Jake Gyllenhaal: shaved head, white crew-neck T-shirt, right in front of the camera, seen mostly in profile and three-quarter view. His face fills a large part of the frame, so the likeness here is what people notice first.
- The partner on the left. Mike Zavala, played by Michael Peña: dark hair, leaning in from behind on the left of the picture with a wide grin, closer to the lockers and a bit smaller in the frame.
Left and right mean the picture as you see it. Each card follows the same person for the whole 15 seconds, through the turns of the head and the cuts on the beat.
How to make the Twirlanta End of Watch edit with AI
- Open the Twirlanta — End of Watch trend and sign in with Telegram.
- Give a photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP) to the officer in the white T-shirt, to the partner, or to both. A role without a photo stays as in the film.
- Decide on "Keep the original look". On, the white T-shirt and the partner's clothes stay and only faces and hair change; off, the look comes from each photo.
- Press "Make the free preview" to see about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark; every new user gets one.
- Press "Create the full video". The price in Telegram Stars depends on length, quality and number of people and is shown before you start; the Stars come back if a render fails or is canceled.
- Download the 15-second MP4 at 480p or 720p with “Twirlanta” on it, or share it.
By starting a video you confirm you have the right to use the video and the photos, so ask your friend first. Other film scenes and dances are in the trends list.
Which photo for each role?
- Officer in the white T-shirt. The camera is very close and mostly sees him from the side, so use a sharp photo where the whole face, the ears and the hairline are visible; a photo turned slightly to one side helps. Your face and hair come from the photo, so you don't need a shaved head to play Taylor.
- Partner on the left. A smiling, front-facing photo suits his grin best. His face is smaller and partly behind the officer's shoulder, so give this role your clearest photo.
- Both. One person per photo, nothing covering the face, no sunglasses. The scene is dark and contrasty, but a bright, evenly lit photo still works better than a moody one. With "Keep the original look" off, a full-body photo also sets the clothes.
