In Univer, the TNT sitcom that first aired in 2008, and in its spin-offs Univer. New Dorm and SashaTanya, Sasha Sergeev, son of the oligarch Sylvester Sergeev, mostly refuses his father's money and lives in a Moscow student dorm. Andrey Gaydulyan (also spelled Gaidulyan) plays him.

The meme flips that story: what if Sasha had taken the money? Then he's a 90s gangster boss following in his father's footsteps, with gold chains, a leather jacket and two men walking behind him. People call these clips "Sasha Silvestr" or "Univer in the 90s".

Where does the original video come from?

The clip belongs to a wave of AI-made shorts on TikTok and YouTube Shorts that began in early September 2026, with titles like "POV: Sasha took Sylvester Andreevich's money". Many TikToks in this look were set to the track "Москва" (Moscow) by VILLIAN and madk1d. On September 13, 2026, Gaydulyan himself posted a TikTok in the same 90s-gangster image.

It looks like a worn 90s tape, but it was generated. Many accounts posted similar takes, and we couldn't confirm who posted this exact 18-second clip first, so there's no source link here.

Who and what is in it?

vswp found four people in the clip, and three of them are in the poster frame:

• Sasha. The young man in the middle walks toward the camera, a brick phone at his ear, black leather jacket open over a bare chest, gold chains with a square pendant, rings, a gold bracelet and watch. His free hand gestures as if he's settling a deal.
• The guard on the left. A man with short dark hair in a dark jacket and a thin chain, glancing to the side.
• The guard on the right. An older, heavyset man with short gray hair, looking straight ahead without a smile.

The fourth person is in the clip too, so a crew of four fits. It's a gray day on an old street with ornate facades that looks like St. Petersburg, and the soft, grainy picture sits between black bars like a 90s TV recording.
