You can swap a person in a video on your phone without installing anything: open vswp in the phone's browser, sign in with Telegram, pick a trend or upload a clip from your gallery, add a photo of each person to swap in, and press "Create video". The result is an MP4 with the original sound that you can download or share straight to Telegram, stories and other apps. It works the same on an iPhone and on Android.
Do you need an app to swap faces in a video on a phone?
No. vswp is a web app, so the browser you already have is enough. There is nothing to download from an app store and no password to create: you sign in with Telegram, and you pay in Telegram Stars (⭐) bought in the bot @vswpapp_bot.
The phone version is the same service as on a computer: the same limits, price and result, just a smaller screen.
How do you do it, step by step?
- Open the site. Type vswp.app into the browser and sign in with Telegram.
- Pick a video. Choose one from Trends, where the people are already found, or upload your own from the gallery: 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format.
- Wait for the people search. In your own video, vswp looks for people in the first 30 seconds, usually in a couple of minutes, for free. If your moment comes later, choose another part of up to 30 seconds.
- Add photos. Add a photo to each person's card, up to 6 different photos per video, as JPEG, PNG or WebP. Everyone without a photo stays as in the original.
- Choose the look. With "Keep the original look" on, the clothes stay as in the video and only faces and hair change. Off, clothes and hair come from the photo.
- Try it first. As a new user, press "Make the free preview": about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark. See how the free preview works.
- Make the full video. Press "Create the full video". The price and the estimated time show before you start; videos are typically ready in minutes.
- Save or share. Download the MP4, or use Share to send it to Telegram, stories or another app.
How do you get a phone video ready for upload?
Most upload problems come from the file, not the phone. A minute in your gallery's editor helps:
- Trim first. Cut the clip to the moment you want, 120 seconds or less. The guide on picking the best 30 seconds helps you choose.
- Watch the size. A high-resolution, high-frame-rate recording fills 150 MB quickly. The result is 480p or 720p at up to about 30 frames per second, so filming in 4K doesn't make it sharper.
- Keep it vertical if you'll post it. The swap keeps the original camera, so a vertical source gives a vertical result for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
- Use Wi-Fi for big files, and keep the page open until the upload finishes.
Use only videos you have the right to use: your own clips, clips friends filmed and agreed to share, or the ready trends.
How do you take a good photo with your phone?
The photo matters more than the phone, and a fresh one takes a minute:
- Use daylight. Face a window instead of standing with it behind you.
- Ask a friend to take it. A selfie taken very close at arm's length can stretch the face.
- Turn off beauty filters and portrait effects. They change the face the AI is meant to copy.
- One person, face fully visible. No sunglasses, hands or hair across the face.
- Full body if you want your outfit. A full-body photo carries clothing, hair and silhouette best; a portrait can't show clothing it doesn't contain.
The full checklist is in which photos work best for an AI video swap. Ask before you use anyone else's photo.
What phone issues come up, and how do you fix them?
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| The video won't upload | Check it's 1 to 120 seconds and under 150 MB; trim it in the gallery |
| A photo isn't accepted | Use JPEG, PNG or WebP; if your phone saves HEIC, export the photo as JPEG |
| A person wasn't found | People seen very briefly or heavily blurred may not be found; pick a part where they're clear |
| The free preview isn't available | Free previews per day are limited; the app says when the next one frees up |
How do you share the result from your phone?
Share is usually the fastest way: it sends the MP4 with the original sound straight to Telegram, your stories or another app. Download keeps a copy on the phone; where it lands depends on your phone and browser.
If you post it publicly, label it as AI-made and ask the people in it first. Rules differ by country, and this is not legal advice; in the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026. Platform settings are in how to post an AI video on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
What does it cost on a phone?
The same as on a computer. Every new user gets one free preview. The full video is paid in Telegram Stars; the price depends on the length, the quality and the number of people, and the exact price is shown before you start. Stars come back automatically if a render fails or is canceled. New to Stars? Read Telegram Stars explained.
It's generative AI, not frame-exact editing: likeness, hands and very fast camera motion can need another take, and pressing "Create video" again makes a new render.
FAQ
Does it work on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. vswp runs in the browser, so it works on both with nothing to install. You sign in with Telegram.
Can I use a video I recorded on my phone?
Yes, if it's 1 to 120 seconds long and up to 150 MB, in any common format. Trim long or very large recordings in your gallery first.
Can I take the photo right there with my phone camera?
Yes. Take it in daylight with filters off, one person, face fully visible. A full-body shot is better if you want your own clothes in the video.
Where does the finished video go?
You choose: Download saves the MP4 to your phone, and Share sends it straight to Telegram, stories or another app.
