What is the Zombie Love Story trend?
It is a love story told as a horror scene. The first half plays in a dark, blue-grey kitchen: tears, a shaking gun, a woman with white eyes and grey skin. Instead of the shot everyone expects, there is a hug. Then the colors turn gold, and the same two people laugh, kiss and walk hand in hand through a field at sunset, as they were before.
People search for it as the Zombie Love Story, the AI zombie hug, the zombie wife or zombie girlfriend trend, the zombie apocalypse love trend, and, after the captions many versions carry, the "in every lifetime" zombie trend. The joke and the tears come from the same twist: love wins over fear, even at the end of the world.
Where does the original video come from?
The format spread on TikTok in late September 2026 and was everywhere by early October, mostly as short films made with AI video tools, where one of a couple turns into a zombie and the other can't shoot. Who made the very first one is not clear.
The video on vswp is a 30-second version posted on TikTok on September 28, 2026. It is longer than most: about 13 seconds of the kitchen standoff, 13 seconds of memories in the field, and a sunset ending.
Who and what is in it?
Two people to replace, both already found on vswp: the man and the woman.
- The kitchen, 0-13 s. Close-ups of the man crying, a pistol in the blurred foreground. Over his shoulder, she stands by the kitchen window as a zombie. He raises the gun with both hands; her face fills the frame, with white eyes and bared teeth. Quick cuts go between his tears and her snarl, then she lunges at him and ends up in his arms.
- The memories, 13-26 s. A golden wheat field: they spin in a hug, she smiles into the camera with his hand on her cheek, he lies in the wheat, they kiss, laugh and run hand in hand.
- The ending, 26-30 s. Her profile against a pink sky, their hands, and two silhouettes kissing in front of the setting sun.
On vswp, whoever takes the woman's place turns into the zombie in the kitchen scenes: white eyes, grey skin and dark veins on the face from the photo, so you still recognize them. In the field and at sunset they look like themselves.
How to make the zombie love story with AI
- Open the Zombie Love Story trend and sign in with Telegram. There is no password.
- Give a photo to the man, the woman or both. Anyone without a photo stays as in the original.
- Decide on "Keep the original look". On, the clothes from the video stay and only faces and hair change; off, the clothes come from your photos.
- Press "Make the free preview" to see about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark; every new user gets one.
- Press "Create the full video". The price in Telegram Stars is shown before you start, and the Stars come back if a render fails or is canceled.
- Download the MP4 at 480p or 720p with the original sound, typically ready in minutes.
By starting a video you confirm you have the right to use it and the photos, so ask your partner first. More videos are in the trends list.
Which photo for each role?
- The man: a sharp face. His close-ups fill the frame, so use a clear, front-facing photo in good light. If you wear glasses in it, you keep them in every shot.
- The woman: the zombie close-ups. Her face is very near the camera in the kitchen and again in the field, so a sharp photo with the whole face visible works best; the zombie look goes on top of it.
- Any couple works. A man's photo can take the woman's place and the other way round; each person keeps their own hair from the photo.
- Full body for your own clothes. With "Keep the original look" off, a full-body photo of one person carries clothes and silhouette best.
Quick lunges and hugs are hard for generative AI, so a take may need another try. More tips: which photos work best for an AI video swap.
