What is the "Day 1 owning a Roadster" trend?
It is a car meme built on one idea: the first day with a car that can fly. The joke is in the contrast. The driver sits in a dark T-shirt with a coffee in the cup holder and a yellow taxi crawling past his window, bored like anyone in a jam, and then he simply leaves the traffic behind by going up. The crying-laughing emoji in the caption sets the tone.
People look for it as the Tesla Roadster meme, the flying Roadster meme, "Day 1 owning a Roadster", the Roadster traffic video or the Tesla flying car trend.
Where does the original video come from?
The meme rides on real news. On October 15, 2026, Tesla showed its next-generation Roadster at a SpaceX test site in McGregor, Texas, near Waco, and local and national media reported that a prototype lifted off the ground, flipped and landed on its wheels during the livestreamed event. Clips joking about "owning a Roadster" spread right after.
The video in this trend is a fantasy edit, not footage of a real car feature or of a real owner: no Roadster in everyday city traffic can do what the clip shows. We have not confirmed who made the first version, so this page does not link a source. vswp keeps the clip's own caption and sound.
Who and what is in it?
One person to replace: the driver. He is a young man with short hair in a plain dark T-shirt and jeans, seen from the passenger side. The trend has two versions inside one card, and you pick one before you start:
- Day One, about 10 seconds. The driver in traffic with his phone, the yellow cab outside, the big center screen and the coffee, then the outside shots of the car and the flight over the city.
- Tbilisi, about 13 seconds. The same idea in a second edit with its own driver and its own sound.
In both, the driver appears in the interior shots. The outside shots of the car are part of the original edit and stay as they are, so you need no photo of a car.
How to make the Roadster meme with AI
- Open the Tesla Roadster trend and sign in with Telegram. There is no password.
- Pick the version, Day One or Tbilisi, after watching its preview.
- The driver is already found: give his card one photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP).
- Decide on "Keep the original look". On, you keep his dark T-shirt and only your face and hair replace his; off, your clothes and look come from your photo.
- Press "Make the free preview" to see about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark; every new user gets one.
- Press "Create the full video". The price in Telegram Stars is shown before you start, and the Stars come back if a render fails or is canceled. Download the MP4 at 480p or 720p with the original sound, typically ready in minutes.
By starting a video you confirm you have the right to use it and the photos, so ask friends before using theirs. More on this template is in the Roadster traffic guide, and more videos are in the trends list.
Which photo for the driver?
- A clear face, seen a little from the side. The camera looks at him from the passenger seat, so a sharp photo in daylight where your face is fully visible works best; no sunglasses, no cap pulled low.
- Upper body for your own look. He is seen from the waist up behind the wheel. With "Keep the original look" off, a photo showing your shoulders and top carries your clothes into the car.
- Hands and the phone. He holds a phone and reaches for the controls; generative AI can blur fingers there, and a take may need another try.
