Jean Phil gang gang dance: put yourself in his place with AI

What is the Jean Phil gang gang dance?

Jean Phil is a character who never smiles: a man in a tweedy suit and tie, with a blond bob and a twirled moustache, shadowboxing in streets, cafés and parks as if a fight were about to start. Some compare his hair to Lord Farquaad's, and he is also called "poodle man". People search for the clip as the Jean Phil dance, Jean Phil shadowboxing, Jean Philanthrope or the Jean Phil gang gang dance.

The joke is the contrast: grand seriousness, an absurd look and fists thrown at nobody.

Where does the original video come from?

Jean Phil appeared as @jean_philanthrope on Instagram and TikTok in mid-September 2026. The park clip in this trend went up on TikTok on September 19, captioned "She feels safe with the man.": Jean Phil boxing under a tree in Paris to Nelly's "Dilemma". According to Know Your Meme it passed 5.6 million views and 561,000 likes in three days; by early October it had more than 10 million plays.

Whether Jean Phil is a performer in a wig or entirely AI-generated is still debated, and whoever runs the account has not said. A crypto token named after him was promoted from September 20; vswp has nothing to do with it.

From late September, video templates and edits set his moves to a rap track called "Gang Gang", which is why many people now search for the Jean Phil gang gang dance. AI edits followed: people dancing in his place, and groups of several Jean Phils moving together.

Who and what is in it?

One person to replace: Jean Phil himself, in a brown houndstooth suit, a white shirt and a striped tie. The clip runs about 27 seconds in one continuous shot:

• Opening close-up. He stares into the camera from very near, without a smile.
• Shadowboxing under the tree. He steps back onto the grass and boxes the air: guard up, jabs, little dance steps, full body in the middle of the frame, with apartment blocks behind the park.
• Back to the camera. He walks up again with his arms spread wide, and his face fills the frame once more.
• The bouquet. He ends by holding a big bunch of bright flowers up to the camera.

A passer-by crosses far in the background; that person stays as in the original.

1. Open the Jean Phil gang gang trend and sign in with Telegram. There is no password.
2. Jean Phil is already found: give his card one photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP).
3. Decide on "Keep the original look". On, you keep his houndstooth suit and tie, while your face and hair replace his; off, your clothes and look come from your photo.
4. Press "Make the free preview" to see about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark; every new user gets one.
5. Press "Create the full video". The price in Telegram Stars is shown before you start, and the Stars come back if a render fails or is canceled.
6. Download the MP4 at 480p or 720p with the original sound, typically ready in minutes.

By starting a video you confirm you have the right to use it and the photos, so ask friends before using theirs. More videos are in the trends list.

Which photo for Jean Phil?

• A clear face first. The clip opens and nearly ends on close-ups, so use a sharp, front-facing photo in daylight with nothing covering the face.
• Full body for your own outfit. Most of the clip shows him from head to toe. A full-body photo of you alone carries silhouette and clothes best; turn "Keep the original look" off to box in your own clothes.
• Fast fists. Quick jabs and the flowers in front of the chest are hard for generative AI: hands can blur, and a take may need another try.
