An end-of-season video for your sports team made with AI puts your players into famous moments: the top scorer in a legendary goal, the coach in a big speech scene, the whole squad in a dance trend for the party. With [vswp](/) you pick a video from Trends or upload your own, add one photo per player, and AI swaps them in while the moves, camera, lighting and sound stay as in the original. Each clip is ready in minutes, so you can still make it the week of the party.

## Why make the season video with AI?

Most amateur teams have a few blurry phone clips from the sideline and a lot of group photos. That rarely adds up to a highlight reel. With AI you don't need good footage of your own games: you take a scene that already looks great and put your people into it. One clear photo per person is enough, so players who missed half the season or moved away can still be in it.

It works for any team: a Sunday football side, a club volleyball team, a school basketball squad, a running group or a kids' team finishing its first year.

## End-of-season video ideas

| Idea | Who is in it | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| The MVP in a famous goal or dunk | One player | A slow-motion replay with the player close to the camera works best |
| The coach's big speech | The coach | A movie locker-room or pep-talk scene |
| Trophy celebration | Up to 6 players | Pick a celebration where the players don't cover each other |
| The team dance | 2 to 6 players | A duo or group dance from [Trends](/trend/) for the party |
| Awards night | One player per clip | A short clip per award: best defender, most improved, best excuse for being late |
| Farewell to a leaving player | The player and a few teammates | A goodbye scene from a film they like |

A few things make these land:

- **Use the team's in-jokes.** The goalkeeper who always argues with the referee, the player who never passes: a scene that plays on a known story gets the biggest laugh.
- **Make every joke kind.** Everyone in the room will see it, often parents or partners too. Laugh with players, not at them.
- **Keep each clip short.** One clear moment of up to 30 seconds per clip, then play several in a row.

For more on sports scenes in particular, see [how to put yourself into a sports highlight](/guides/put-yourself-in-a-sports-highlight/).

## How many players can be in one video?

One video can use up to 6 different photos, one per person. Main people come first in the people cards; people seen briefly or far away are grouped as the background. Everyone without a photo stays as in the original, so in a stadium scene only the players you choose change.

For a squad of 15 or 20, make a series: a few short clips with a different group in each, then put them together in your phone's video editor. Our guide to [swapping a whole group of friends into one video](/guides/swap-a-group-of-friends/) explains how to give each photo to the right person.

## Team kit or the original outfits?

The "Keep the original look" switch decides what comes from each photo:

- **On:** the clothes from the video stay, and only faces and hair change. A clear portrait is enough. Good for movie scenes and costumes.
- **Off:** clothes, hair and silhouette come from the photo. To see your own team's shirt, use a full-body photo of each player alone, wearing the kit. A portrait cannot show clothing it doesn't contain, and small details like badges and numbers may come out differently.

## Which photos should you collect?

Ask each player for one sharp, recent photo of themselves alone, in good light, with the whole face visible: no sunglasses, no caps pulled low, no heavy filters. Crops from the team photo are tempting, but the faces are small there and come out looking less like the person. The full checklist is in [which photos work best for an AI video swap](/guides/best-photos-for-ai-video-swap/).

## How to make it, step by step

1. **Start a week before the party.** Each clip takes minutes, but collecting photos from a whole team takes longer.
2. **Sign in** at [vswp.app](/) with Telegram. There's no password, and only the person making the video needs an account.
3. **Pick the scene** from Trends, where the people are already found, or upload your own: 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format, and only one you have the right to use. For an upload, the person search runs on the first 30 seconds automatically, usually in a couple of minutes, and it's free. In a longer video you can choose another part of up to 30 seconds.
4. **Add the photos** to the cards of the players to replace.
5. **Set the look** with "Keep the original look".
6. **Check with the free preview.** If you haven't used it yet, "Make the free preview" shows about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark.
7. **Make the full video:** choose 480p or 720p, check the estimated time and the price, and press "Create the full video". Paid videos have no mark.
8. **Watch it before the party.** Balls, hands, tackles and fast camera moves sometimes need another take. Pressing "Create video" again makes a new take, which is a new render.

You get an MP4 of the processed part with the original sound. vswp doesn't add text, so put names, awards or the season score in your phone's video editor.

## Ask the players first

Ask everyone before you use their photo, and ask again before anything goes public. For a kids' or school team, get the parents' permission and keep the video in the team's private chat. Club and league footage may belong to someone else, so check before you upload it. Pressing "Create video" confirms you have the right to use the video and the photos; [face swap consent and safety](/guides/face-swap-consent-and-safety/) covers this in more detail. Rules differ by country, and this is not legal advice; in the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026, so label the video as AI-made if you publish it.

## How much does it cost?

The free preview costs nothing; the number of free previews per day is limited, and the app says when the next one frees up. The full video is paid in Telegram Stars (⭐). The price depends on the length, the quality and the number of people you replace, and the exact price is shown before you start. Stars are taken when a render starts and returned automatically if it fails or is canceled.

## FAQ

### Can the whole team be in one video?

Up to 6 people per video, one photo each; everyone else in the scene stays as in the original. For a bigger squad, make several short clips with different players and play them in a row.

### Can players wear our own team shirt in the video?

Turn off "Keep the original look" and use a full-body photo of each player in the kit. Logos and numbers may not match exactly.

### Can I make a video for a kids' team?

Yes, with the parents' permission for every child in it. Keep it in the team's private chat rather than posting it publicly.

### Do the players need to sign up?

No. Only the person who makes the video signs in with Telegram. The others just send a photo, with their permission.
