To put yourself into a sports highlight with AI, take a clip where one player is clearly visible, add a sharp photo of yourself to that player's card and start: AI redraws you in their place, while the play, the camera and the crowd noise stay as in the original. On vswp you can start from a ready sports trend, like [Özil's Ludogorets goal](/trend/mesut-ozil-ludogorets-wonder-goal/), or upload a clip of your own match. A free preview shows the result before you pay.

## Which sports clips work best?

AI person swap copies one person's moves and puts your face and, if you like, your look on them. It works best when that person is easy to follow. Good highlights have:

- **One clear hero.** A scorer running onto the ball, a player celebrating, a skater landing a trick. The person you replace should be on screen for most of the clip.
- **A camera that stays close.** Pitch-level or sideline shots work better than the wide broadcast angle where players are small dots. People seen very briefly or far away may not be found at all.
- **Moderate speed.** Slow-motion replays are ideal. Very fast camera motion, whip pans and quick cuts can need another take.
- **Little overlap.** A goalmouth scramble with five bodies on top of each other is hard; a breakaway is easy.

For more general advice, see [how to choose a video that works for an AI person swap](/guides/choose-a-video-for-ai-swap/).

## Where can you get the clip?

You need a video you have the right to use. Good sources:

- **The vswp Trends library.** Ready clips with the people already found, such as the [Özil goal](/trend/mesut-ozil-ludogorets-wonder-goal/) and the [skinny vs muscular arm wrestling match](/trend/arm-wrestling-ai/). Open the trend, add a photo and go.
- **Your own games.** A friend filming your Sunday league match from the sideline, a basketball run at the park, your kid's tournament. Ask the people in it before you post.
- **Club or school recordings,** with permission from whoever filmed them.

Footage of professional leagues usually belongs to the leagues and broadcasters. A private video for friends is one thing; posting it publicly can lead to takedowns, and rules differ by country.

## How do you make it on vswp?

1. **Open [vswp](/)** in the browser on your phone or computer and sign in with Telegram. No password needed.
2. **Pick the clip.** Choose a sports trend, or upload your own video: 1 to 120 seconds, up to 150 MB, any common format.
3. **Wait for the person search.** It runs automatically on the first 30 seconds, usually in a couple of minutes, and is free. For a longer match video, choose another part of up to 30 seconds: the goal, not the warm-up. Our guide on [picking the best 30 seconds](/guides/pick-the-best-30-seconds/) helps.
4. **Add photos.** Give a photo to the player you want to become. You can also replace teammates, up to 6 different photos per video; everyone without a photo stays as in the original.
5. **Choose the kit** with "Keep the original look" (see below).
6. **Make the free preview**: about 5 seconds at 480p where the people with photos are on screen, with a small "vswp.app" mark.
7. **Create the full video.** Pick 480p or 720p. The price in Telegram Stars (⭐) depends on length, quality and the number of people, and you see it before you start. If the render fails or you cancel it, the Stars come back automatically.
8. **Download the MP4** with the original sound, or share it straight to Telegram and stories from your phone.

## Keep the team kit or wear your own?

The "Keep the original look" switch decides what comes from your photo:

| | On | Off |
|---|---|---|
| Clothes | The kit from the video stays | Come from your photo |
| Face and hair | From your photo | From your photo |
| Best photo | A sharp, front-facing portrait | A full-body photo in the outfit you want |

Keep it on to score in the club's colors. Turn it off to play in your own team's shirt, and use a full-body photo of one person wearing it: a portrait cannot show clothing it doesn't contain. Small details like badges and numbers can come out differently. The full comparison is in [swap only the face or the whole person](/guides/face-only-or-whole-person/).

## Which photo should you use?

Players in highlights are often small in the frame and move fast, so the likeness leans on your build and hair as much as your face:

- **Full length and sharp** when the clip is a wide shot; a clear portrait is enough for close-ups and celebrations.
- **Face uncovered.** No cap, sunglasses or headband pulled low.
- **Even light.** A bright daylight photo beats a dark, grainy one.

## What usually goes wrong?

- **The ball, racket or stick near the hands.** Things touching the body are hard for AI, and hands are a known weak spot. Another take often fixes it.
- **Tackles and collisions.** Crossing legs and two players overlapping can smear for a few frames.
- **A face that doesn't look like you.** A small face needs clear features: try a sharper photo. More fixes in [what to do when the face doesn't look like you](/guides/ai-face-swap-does-not-look-like-you/).

This is generative AI, not frame-exact editing, so every take is a little different. Pressing "Create video" again makes a new take, which is a new render with its price shown first.

## Can you post it?

Yes, if you have the rights to the clip and the people in it agreed. Say it's an AI edit, especially for a real match: in the EU, the AI Act's disclosure rule for deepfakes applies from August 2026, and rules differ elsewhere. This is not legal advice. By pressing "Create video" you confirm you have the right to use the video and the photos.

## FAQ

### Can I put my face on a famous player's goal?

You can try it with the sports clips in the vswp Trends library, like [Özil's goal against Ludogorets](/trend/mesut-ozil-ludogorets-wonder-goal/). For broadcast footage you find yourself, check that you may use it, especially before posting.

### Can my whole team be in the video?

Yes, up to 6 different photos per video, one per player you want to replace. Clips where the players stay apart work best; see [how to swap a whole group of friends into one video](/guides/swap-a-group-of-friends/).

### Will my own team's shirt appear?

Turn off "Keep the original look" and use a full-body photo of you in that shirt. Details like logos and numbers may not match exactly.

### Is it free?

Every new user gets one free preview of about 5 seconds at 480p with a small "vswp.app" mark. The full video is paid in Telegram Stars, with the price shown before you start.
